From 15th-17th November 2017, BINUS UNIVERSITY is set to host the International Conference on Information Management and Technology (ICIMTech 2017) which will be held in the city of Yogyakarta. As such, the university is encouraging participants — students, researchers, R&D enterprises, academics, and government organisations — to submit papers on topics related to information systems. The application deadline will be on 31st May 2017.
The conference aims to bring together researchers and industry experts in information systems to provide solutions to the operational and technical challenges surrounding this industry in Indonesia. The topics include but are not limited to areas such as Big Data and Data Mining, Web Engineering, Cloud and Grid Computing, and Software Entrepreneurship among many others. As Indonesia avoids getting stuck in the middle-income trap, information systems can address the many pressing challenges the country faces such as high logistics costs and operational inefficiency. Solutions developed through ICT can thus help increase productivity for businesses in Indonesia while contending with the lack of infrastructure.
BINUS UNIVERSITY’s upcoming ICIMTech conference demonstrates the university’s active approach to fulfilling the current shortage of qualified human resources in ICT in Indonesia. As industries in the country expand their use of IT solutions, BINUS UNIVERSITY graduates can facilitate the necessary ICT services across a wide spectrum of applications and sectors.
