On Thursday 17th October, 2019 BINUS University inaugurated Prof. Dr. Ir. Dyah Budiastuti, M.M who serves as Deputy Head of the Faculty of Doctoral Research in Management as a Professor of Strategic Management. The event took place in the auditorium of the Anggrek Campus at which Professor Budiastuti also presented her scientific research paper entitled Strategic Management Transformation in the Age of Disruptive Innovation”. The rector of BINUS University, Professor Harjanto Prabowo, who led the inauguration, remarked on the significance of reaching the status of Professor as among the most esteemed pathways of an academic career. Furthermore, he noted that for BINUS University, the inauguration of a professor in the field of Strategic Management would serve to strengthen the institution’s academic standing as well as relevance to businesses and organisations.
The event was covered by BINUS TV as well as local medias given the significant interest in the topic of strategic management in this era of fast paced technological advancement for which Indonesian businesses must be adequately prepared. Professor Budiastuti presented their research within a context of the current business environment which is mired in uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity and remarked that businesses must therefore transform in every sector of the economy to become digital business. Organizations need strategic thinking and use of digital programs to create new technologies and then align themselves for the implementation of effective strategies.
