On 24th October 2016, BINUS UNIVERSITY hosted a workshop in cooperation with Prof. Paul Jones, as Deputy Director of International Centre for Transformational Entrepreneurship of Coventry University. The event was part of BINUS UNIVERSITY’s series of seminars in the month of October in which the university invited renowned international companies, universities, industry leaders as well as academics to discuss the importance of technology for the advancement of Indonesian businesses.
Prof. Jones held the workshop for enrolled students on the topic of transformational entrepreneurship and encouraged the use of digital technology amongst emerging entrepreneurs in order to further advance Indonesia's society. Prof. Jones further provided his insights on the recent global economic slowdown and its impact on Indonesia's business environment and thus illustrated the increasing need to produce innovative business leaders that can propel economic growth. Through the combination of technology entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship, transformational entrepreneurship can therefore serve as the latest primary source of socio-economic development through the creation of sustainable products and brands. As such, students were also presented an opportunity to showcase business ideas with the potential to foster economic and employment growth during the event.
BINUS UNIVERSITY’s most recent seminar demonstrates its understanding to prepare and equip students in Indonesia for real-world business situations hence the university will continue to undertake various measures to realise its mission.
