As part of its continuing efforts to play an increasingly influential role in Indonesia’s education sector, BINUS UNIVERSITY on 21st April 2016 officially hosted the soft launching of its new campus located in Bekasi, West Java. The new campus is still under construction and therefore classes will initially be conducted at the Plaza Summarecon as of May 2016 for its online courses, and followed by classroom-based lectures from September 2016.
The new campus will offer a comprehensive array of majors such as Information Technology, Business Management, Corporate Information Systems and Accounting. One of BINUS UNIVERSITY’s primary motivations for establishing a campus in the Bekasi area is to cater to its working professionals. BINUS UNIVERSITY recognises the growing demand for quality education in of one of Jakarta’s satellite cities, and has therefore sought to establish a long-term physical presence in the area and further cement the university’s standing as a leading higher education institution in the country.
Through the development of the new campus, BINUS UNIVERSITY is poised to further undertake comprehensive measures to contribute to the widespread advancement of Indonesia’s education sector. By constructing the campus in Bekasi, the university demonstrates its capacity to appeal to students that are living outside Jakarta; this is already evident from the success of its campuses in Palembang, Semarang and Malang.
