Human resource management is one of the toughest challenges that many companies have had to face during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Many companies have had to make such as implementing temporary salary cuts and reducing their workforce. Furthermore, maintaining employee morale and motivation while working at home has posed a further challenge. As an institution that has a vision of fostering and empowering society through building and serving the nation, BINA NUSANTARA is committed to being an institution that creates a pleasant work culture and environment. This commitment and dedication has earned BINA NUSANTARA the award of being one of The Best Companies to work for in Asia 2020 by HR Asia Magazine.
Of the 290 companies in Indonesia, BINA NUSANTARA is the only company in the education industry to have won this award. This award was judged on 3 assessment segments, namely Core, Self and Group. Core assesses how the company culture supports BINUSIANs to work optimally and initiatives provided to make work activities more meaningful. Self focuses on the perspective of the individual BINUSIAN; a sense of belonging, trust and behavior are assessed in this segment. Finally, the Group emphasizes what BINUSIANs think, feel and do. This segment assesses collective actions and behavior, shared opinions, and emotional connection in groups. On the assessment of the three segments, BINA NUSANTARA received an average score of more than 4 out of 5. This score is considered superior compared to other industries which average around a score of 3.
During the pandemic, BINA NUSANTARA continued to provide the same facilities and benefits to its employees and did not reduce its staff. BINA NUSANTARA also organized various programs to increase engagement with employees such as virtual townhall meetings attended by thousands of BINUSIANs for approximately 7 hours, group sports activities, singing contests, and also regular quizzes with prizes.
This award from HR Asia Magazine is, of course, a token of appreciation for the dedication given by BINA NUSANTARA to its employees. In the future, BINUS will continue to strengthen engagement with BINUSIANs as well as its stakeholders. "Thank you for all the enthusiasm, commitment, hard work and determination of BINUSIANs, teachers & lecturers, and employees. We are very grateful to have such a dedicated and passionate team.
