From 18th – 19th October 2016, BINUS UNIVERSITY held a seminar in cooperation with members of AIESEC on the importance of tourism development in Indonesia — AIESEC is a non-profit NGO that provides internship and volunteering opportunities to implement projects that assist local communities. AIESEC sought to share the innovative measures they undertook to help the advancement of Maluku’s tourism industry and how BINUS UNIVERSITY students can help develop the local sector in order to improve community welfare as well as livelihoods.
AIESEC representatives shared their experiences with BINUS UNIVERSITY’s enrolled students on their latest community project — Inclusive Tourism and Wonderful Maluku — which aimed at boosting tourism in Maluku. AIESEC members additionally sought to hone in on the entrepreneurial skills of community members in an effort to bring about advancements in Maluku's tourism industry.
This latest seminar with AIESEC demonstrates BINUS UNIVERSITY’s efforts to encourage its students to enroll in extra-curricular activities that nurture self-development, improve social skills in addition to expanding its students’ network as a means to develop the new generation of business leaders.
