BINUS UNIVERSITY is accepting enrollment applications for four of the university’s international summer programmes that will be hosted in key cities and regions across Indonesia such as Bali, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bandar Lampung, and Tangerang. The initiative additionally partners with various organisations as well as higher education institutions across Indonesia including Udayana University, Teach for Indonesia, and Universitas Islam Indonesia. Participants have the opportunity to enroll in classes for a series of topics ranging from strengthening the role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), Indonesia’s fishery industry, language and culture in addition to the industry use of information systems.
Through its partnership with Udayana University, BINUS UNIVERSITY’s summer course will be held from 3rd – 14th July 2017 and will focus on the theme of “SME Business in Indonesia: From Bali to the World”. The English-speaking course is focused on export activities for SMEs particularly for the island of Bali; the two-week programme will be held for a week in Jakarta followed with a week-long trip in Bali consisting of business classes, site visits to Balinese SMEs, and in-depth cultural immersion programme of Jakarta and Bali. Upon completion, participants are hoped to better understand Indonesia's business culture while also developing an adeptness in identifying key opportunities relevant to the sector. To ensure that participants gain a hands-on industry experience, BINUS UNIVERSITY has recruited the assistance of local companies such as Bali Tangi, Bumi Ayu Hotel, and Wisnu Karya Putra International. The deadline for enrollment to this programme is on 19th May 2017.
Moreover, with the guidance of its in-house Teach for Indonesia organisation, BINUS UNIVERSITY’s summer course on “Inclusive Growth in Indonesia: Empowering Fishermen” seeks to attract individuals with an interest in philanthropy and economic inclusivity; this programme will be held from 30th July – 13th August 2017. In order to deliver on real world experience, programme participants will have the opportunity to partake in a homestay activity with selected members of the Tanjung Pasir community while also carrying out workshop initiatives to empower surrounding communities. Participants are expected to gain stronger insights on Indonesia’s diverse culture as well as socioeconomic conditions as a means of pushing for greater efforts for inclusive growth. The deadline for enrollment to this programme is on 8th July 2017.
To cater to the ASEAN-oriented market, BINUS UNIVERSITY is offering a summer course on the theme of “Indonesia 101 – P2A Multi-City Journey” in cooperation with University Islam Indonesia and the Informatics and Business Institute Darmajaya; the programme will be held from 31st July – 9th August 2017. The summer course is a response to the start of the ASEAN Community – which began in January 2017 – that calls for greater unity among ASEAN member states. In support of the mission stipulated under the Passage to ASEAN (P2A) document, this course is tailored to familiarise enrolled participants with a strong familiarity on Indonesia, a key player in the ASEAN. As such, the programme also entails a 10-day trip to a number of locations including Bandar Lampung, the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, and Yogyakarta; the aim of the trip is to highlight Indonesia’s political and cultural hubs. The deadline for enrollment to this programme is on 10th July 2017.
In keeping with its strength in information technology, BINUS UNIVERSITY’s summer course on “International Thematic Camp at the School of Information Systems” is set to encourage students in offering solutions for integral topics such as e-tourism, community development, education, innovation, and user experience among many others. The course will be held from 17th – 21st July 2017 and moreover, it is limited to only 40 participants. Through the implementation of its effective curricula, BINUS UNIVERSITY will assist participants of the short course on the creation, problem solving, and planning of industries in need of information systems solutions. The deadline for enrollment to this programme is on 15th May 2017.
