BINUS UNIVERSITY, recently held a workshop on entrepreneurship on 26th October 2016 in collaboration with Prof. Daniel Lacks as Department Chair of the School of Chemical and Bimolecular Engineering at the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, United States. Prof. Lacks provided thorough insights regarding the utilisation of start-up incubators as a platform to assist students and faculty members on becoming entrepreneurs and technology leaders.
Prof. Lacks shared his experience on Case Western Reserve University’s recently established Think[box] — an on-campus entrepreneurship and innovation centre — which acts as a facilitator for cross-department and cross-institution collaborative endeavours for the design, development and commercialization of new products. As such, Prof. Lacks encouraged participants to capitalise on BINUS UNIVERSITY’s own start-up incubator centres that fully support creative minds to achieve academic and industry breakthroughs. Furthermore, participants were also asked to present their business development ideas through a 10-minute video that covered integral sectors of Indonesia’s economy.
Moreover, through the entrepreneurship workshop, Case Western Reserve University is also set to invite selected BINUS UNIVERSITY students to participate in projects from the Think[box] centre so as to provide first-hand experience for future Indonesian entrepreneurs on understanding how creativity and innovation can lead to economic and social advancement.
BINUS UNIVERSITY’s most recent workshop cements the institute’s reputation for guaranteeing the availability of advanced educational resources as an integral part of student’s learning experience. As such, the university has taken the necessary steps to ingrain entrepreneurism as part of its teaching curricula which will encourage BINUS UNIVERSITY graduates to establish new business entities.
