From 22nd – 25th February 2018, BINUS UNIVERSITY participated in the 2018 Indonesia International Education & Training Expo (IIETE), which was held at the Jakarta Convention Centre. Inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Mr Joko Widodo, IIETE 2018 brings forth universities, vocational schools, and training institutions to showcase their individual study programmes — ranging from diploma through to postgraduate levels — to high-school students and graduates. This year’s event featured up to 100 higher education establishments who made available counselling and spot admission assessments for visitors.
At the event, BINUS UNIVERSITY exhibited its diverse faculty and degree programmes, student associations, and extracurricular activities. The university also held various workshops, presentations, and contests, which included Japanese calligraphy, public speaking exercises, as well as a demonstration of its 'Ratanggalih' wheelchair — recently developed by the School of Computer Science — which can be mobilised via brain signals.
Furthermore, the university illustrated its modern approach to higher education in Indonesia through its innovative curricula which emphasises on nurturing entrepreneurial skills whilst seeking to support community development measures. Success in this regard is further emulated through BINUS UNIVERSITY’s ‘A’ accreditation status, all-encompassing research programmes, and the more than 130 university and 10,000 industry partners — resulting in graduates that have ascended to the upper echelons of corporate Indonesia.
BINUS UNIVERSITY’s recent participation at IIETE 2018 is part of its extensive efforts in informing the public that through the opportunities that it provides, prospective students can develop the necessary skills to prepare them for success in an era of unprecedented global integration.
