On 16th January 2020 at Raffles Ciputra Hotel in Jakarta, Head of Alibaba Cloud Indonesia, Leon Chen announced the launch of a collaborative initiative with Bina Nusantara University and Prasetiya Mulya University to provide cloud training and development for students, entrepreneurs and teachers as part of a Digital Talent Empowerment Program. The program aims to support the growth and professionalization of the cloud in Indonesia as the digital economy continues to play an increasingly important role in the country’s future and therefore requires more trained professionals.
The Digital Empowerment Program will focus on developing the digital skills and capacity of the participants as well as creating a digital ecosystem around the cloud and digital technology through generating more trained human resources and building connections between relevant organizations. Over the course of 2020, Alibaba Cloud will provide training programs and workshops for approximately 60 teaching staff and lecturers from Bina Nusantara University and Prasetiya Mulya Business School. The idea is that the participants in the training will then share and transfer their knowledge with their students with the further aim of having at least 2,000 students from the two universities to take up training on related subjects. By creating knowledgeable trainers on the topic, this can have a sustained impact on inspiring students as future young professionals which complements BINUS University’s existing approach to instilling a technology focused and entrepreneurial outlook among all of its students.
Furthermore, Alibaba Cloud will also offer cloud based resources to selected startups from the BLOCK71 community who are participating in in Create@AlibabaCloud start up competition. Create@AlibabaCloud is held every year by cloud service providers. The two parties will also jointly manage networking, workshop activities and regular pitching events. Alibaba Cloud will also work with Trinocate and i3 to develop advanced training on the cloud, security and data intelligence for developers in the community. The goal is to help them to develop more sophisticated products and industrial solutions within the cloud sector.
