On 21st February 2018, Perbanas Institute signed two agreements with Bank Mandiri — the largest bank in Indonesia in terms of assets — to provide distance learning programmes for the bank’s employees as well as for the development of human resources, information technology, and research initiatives, at its campus in Jakarta. Present at the event was the Chairman of the Perbanas Institute Education Foundation Mr Sukatmo Padmosukarso, Director of Digital banking and Technology at Bank Mandiri Mr Rico Usthavia Frans, Rector of Perbanas Institute Prof Dr Marsudi Kisworo, and Bank Mandiri’s Senior Executive Vice President of Human Capital Mr Sanjay Bharwani.
Bank Mandiri employees are set to benefit from the Moodle learning management system currently being utilised by Perbanas. This platform is highly-flexible and feature-rich, capable of supporting a plethora of plug-in options such as graphical themes, content filters, and enrolment processes; enabling the Institute’s lecturers to specifically customize the curriculum for students who are in full-time employment.
Furthermore, other areas of cooperation include embarking on strategies to further advance the country’s banking industry. This involves examining new growth channels in Indonesia's lucrative consumer loans segment in addition to exploring opportunities in niche markets such as microfinance and shariah banking.
In collaborating with Bank Mandiri, Perbanas Institute illustrated its capabilities to provide unprecedented tailored solutions for established local banks. From understanding financial risk management to driving efficiency and performance, Perbanas continues to work with prominent partners in various aspects of finance and banking and thus cements its standing as a rising regional influence among Asia’s top banking institutions.
