On 25th August 2017, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya through its Business Economics undergraduate study programme hosted its annual ‘Business Economics Strategic (BEST) Challenge at its BSD campus. The competition invites high-school students from Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, and Surabaya to participate in a series of challenges to test their knowledge and understanding of the current challenges facing the business and financial sectors in Indonesia. This year’s theme centred around the topic ‘Implementation of Omni-channels for Financial Inclusion’ — the competition involved 19 teams with the winner receiving a cash prize.
The BEST Challenge required participants to present a case study on how the omni-channel marketing approach can enable individuals and businesses in Indonesia to have greater access to affordable financial products and services such as online payments, transactions, savings, and credit and insurance. Furthermore, participants also attended a seminar on omni-channel strategies by Mr Suherman Widjaja SE., MBus.Acc.Fin as lecturer at Universitas Prasetiya Mulya and Mr Edi Tri Wibowo, MBA, as Group Head of Economics and Corporate Research at Bank Rakyat Indonesia. Upon deciding the winners, students were judged on their analytical and presentation skills as well as innovative ideas in addressing the problem of financial inclusion in the country.
Through the BEST Challenge competition, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya hopes to provide high-school students with industry insights on how through the omni-channel approach, business players from all sectors can account for every platform and device customers use to interact with their respective company and thus deliver the high-quality consumer experience that modern Indonesian customers now expect.
