On 11th July 2017, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Schneider Electric Indonesia that will seek to launch several initiatives on sustainable energy for the university’s Entrepreneurial Energy Engineering undergraduate programme. Schneider Electric Indonesia is a renowned international company involved in the development of sustainable energy as well as energy conversion processes. The areas of cooperation encompass the management of a training centre, research & development programmes, as well as dual collaboration for energy conservation purposes. Vice Rector I of Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, Prof. Dr. Yudi Samyudia, Vice Rector IV of Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, Dr. Ida Juda Widjojo; Dean of the School of Applied STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) at Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, Prof. Dr. Janson Naiborhu; in addition to Country President of Schneider Electric Indonesia, Mr Xavier Denoly participated in the MOU signing procession which took place at the university’s BSD campus.
As climate change continues to create an immense impact on a national and global scale, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya has worked towards finding solutions through the utilisation of renewable energy sources such as biomass, geothermal energy, solar energy, hydropower, and wind power. As such, the recently-initiated partnership with Schneider Electric Indonesia seeks to uphold Universitas Prasetiya Mulya’s upper-hand in innovation namely in the field of sustainable energy. The cooperation also reflects Schneider Electric Indonesia’s commitment to positively contributing to the field of education as a means of further propelling Indonesia’s advancements; the company is also looking to support national measures that will position Indonesia as a competitive leader in the renewable energy sector. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya and Schneider Electric Indonesia hope to propel Indonesia’s energy sector forward by nurturing young talents with the capacity of becoming future leaders in science.
