As a leading institution in business education, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya demonstrated its renown for producing highly-skilled graduates as five of its students were selected for the Indonesian Foreign Ministry’s Outstanding Students for the World (OSTW) programme. Launched in 2011, the OSTW programme aims to introduce skilled local talents, namely budding entrepreneurs, to the international stage. Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director of Public Diplomacy Mr Al Busyra Basnur introduced the 12 participants representing Indonesia in Hong Kong from 24th – 28th May 2016. Among them were Universitas Prasetiya Mulya’s students, Mr Adi Lingson Simanungkalit, Mr Dodi Iswandi Maulidiawan, Mr Hendry Yonatta, Mr Muhamad Ridwan, and Mr Theodorus Ega.
In keeping with the programme’s mission, the OSTW attendees had the opportunity to present their innovative business plans to the Hong Kong Development Council, Hong Kong Productivity Council, and Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, as a means of showcasing the growing significance of entrepreneurship in Indonesia. Among the business models chosen to represent Universitas Prasetiya Mulya were Copycino, Fuse Indonesia, Smart Affordable Innovative Vessel, and Griya Salak. Furthermore, this international programme enabled participants to carry out an analysis on business opportunities in overseas markets. This recent accomplishment by Universitas Prasetiya Mulya’s students stands as evidence of its readiness to equip students with the knowledge and resources in order to become future business leaders.
