On 20th – 22nd July 2016, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya hosted the Jakarta leg of the most recent Asian Financial Leaders Programme (AFLP) partnering with esteemed overseas higher education institution, Singapore Management University (SMU). AFLP is a programme from Temasek Management Services and SMU that hones in on leadership skills of senior-level executives in the financial sector through the provision of an integrated pedagogy on regional and international economic climate. Rector of Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, Prof. Dr. Djisman Simandjuntak attended the event in addition to former Indonesian Trade Minister Ms Mari E. Pangestu who shared her critical insights on the emerging trends in Southeast Asian economies.
The 3-day event served as a platform which enabled participants to closely interact with regulators, leading financiers, and key figures from emerging and developed markets from Universitas Prasetiya Mulya and SMU’s network of partners. AFLP 2016 provided an all-encompassing learning module which included topics such as Risk and Alternative Investments, Regulatory Environment in Southeast Asia, and Wealth Management Growth Strategies among others. It is hoped that the specially-designed programme will be able to assist participants in carrying out significant improvements in a variety of areas related to finance and banking throughout the region. In keeping with SMU and Universitas Prasetiya Mulya’s mission to produce future entrepreneurial leaders, the AFLP event in Jakarta also included discussions on areas that will affect conducting business in Southeast Asia such as varying regulations and risks in the regional financial markets.
Universitas Prasetiya Mulya’s active engagement with both industry and institutional partners illustrates its capability to remain at the forefront of business education and entrepreneurship. The latest collaboration with SMU through the AFLP event is hoped to further the knowledge and skills of professionals in the finance industry with the readiness to bring about change in the dynamic regional and global economy.
