On 3rd December 2016, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya hosted the YouthSpeak Summit 2016 event which was held at its BSD campus. The summit was organised in collaboration with AIESEC and aimed to educate students on a variety of global issues and the solutions needed to actualise change. This year’s themes focused on ‘No Poverty’ and ‘Quality Education’ which are in-line with the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations.
The YouthSpeak Summit 2016 provided a platform for Universitas Prasetiya Mulya students to gain insights from government and business leaders on poverty eradication and education quality in Indonesia and abroad. Prominent attendees at the summit included Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ms Susi Pudjiastuti, Deputy Country Director of the United Nations Development Programme Ms Francine Pickup, Director of Corporate Affairs at Microsoft Indonesia Mr Ruben Hattari, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Telkomsel Ms Adita Irawati, and Mr Antonius Tanan as President of Ciputra Entrepreneurship Centre among others. Furthermore, as part of the YouthSpeak Summit, the organisers also held the YouthSpeak Project competition which encouraged participants to produce sustainable development ideas for Indonesia.
In hosting the YouthSpeak Summit 2016, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya hopes to further educate its students to spur innovative developments to eradicate poverty and increase the quality of education in Indonesia. As such, the university continues to organise seminars and events so as to equip its students with the necessary know-how to be industry leaders.
