On 4th October 2016, University of Surabaya (UBAYA) hosted its 50th oath ceremony for its pharmacy students at the JW Marriott Hotel in Surabaya. Graduates of the Pharmacy study programme are required by Indonesian law to undertake a pledge to maintain their utmost integrity and professionalism as well as to utilise their pharmaceutical knowledge to benefit patients. This most recent ceremony thus demonstrates the university's pharmacy graduates' proficiency and readiness to play an integral part in Indonesia’s pharmaceutical industry.
The ceremony was attended by 96 graduates and invited guests as well as Rector of UBAYA, Prof. Ir. Joniarto Parung, MMBAT, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at UBAYA, Dr. Christina Avanti, Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Pharmacist Association, Drs. Saleh Rustandi, and members of the National Pharmaceutical Committee led by Drs. Bambang Triwara. Upon taking their pledges, graduates also received their diplomas, Certificate of Competence, and Certificate of Registration; these certifications thus officially recognises each graduate as competent pharmacists ready to make an impact to the country’s healthcare sector.
UBAYA’s Faculty of Pharmacy remains a cornerstone of the university's expansion and numerous successes since its inception.
