Sriwijaya University will host the National Nanotechnology Forum 2016 on the 8th October 2016, which will be held at the Fave Hotel, Palembang. This annual forum is organized by the university’s Association of Chemical Engineering Students in collaboration with the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. As host of the event, UNSRI’s upcoming event provides the opportunity to demonstrate the potential use of nanotechnology to improve operations and energy efficiencies for a variety of industries in Indonesia.
The forum will deliver a wide array of activities such as the submission of scientific papers, essay writing and poster competition as well as a seminar to discuss the latest developments in nanotechnology with leading industry experts and higher education institutions. As such, this year, speakers of the event will be Mr RadyumIkono, CEO of PT Nanotech Inovasi Indonesia, Dr I Gede Wenten of Bandung Insitute of Technology and Mr William Kusnanto, Senior Process Engineer at PT Pupuk Sriwidjaya.
In organising this event, UNSRI hopes to encourage discourse in the field of nanotechnology for its potential to impact Indonesia’s value-added economic base in areas such as healthcare, energy and agriculture. UNSRI’s forward-thinking approach to its research in the field of engineering is set to provide initiatives for the use of nanotechnology for Indonesian industries.
