Kwik Kian Gie School of Business was established in 1987 by business leaders with the goal of being a specialised, higher education ‘centre of excellence’ focused on practical teaching methods to produce fully qualified, ready to work graduates. Previously known as the Institute of Business and Information Technology of Indonesia (IBII), the school rebranded itself in 2012 in recognition of prominent Indonesian economist and founder, Kwik Kian Gie, in a move to mark its decision to recalibrate its syllabus and concentrate its core teaching values towards the study of business.
Conscious of growing regional opportunities, Kwik Kian Gie offers a hands on Indonesia and ASEAN focused approach to learning business for its students at the graduate and undergraduate level. Within its portfolio of programs in traditional and contemporary business fields, Kwik Kian Gie has demonstrated an ability to evolve with the needs of the Indonesian professional labour market by creating concentrations such as supply chain management to address market demand in this field. Across all the disciplines offered, a commitment to upholding the highest standards in internal management and teaching is reflected in the achievement of the ISO 9001:2000 certification since 2002.
With the recent rebranding and reconsolidation of the school’s teaching philosophy, Kwik Kian Gie School of Business is reinforcing its status as one of Indonesia’s premier sources of talented, ready to work and entrepreneurial minded graduates. Building upon the success of its alumni, Kwik Kian Gie graduates will continue to play a key role in the development of Indonesia’s leading local and multinational companies.
