On 7th July 2017, BNI Syariah along with its parent company Bank BNI (Persero) and a consortium of local banks signed an agreement with PT Pemalang-Batang Toll Road (PBTR) to finance the Pemalang-Batang highway. The signing of the agreement was witnessed by Business Director of BNI Syariah Ms Dhias Widhiyati; Head of Commercial Division at BNI Syariah Ms Sri Wahyuningsih; President Director of PT. Pemalang Toll Road Mr Supriyono; Zakaria Arahman as the Business Director of Bank Aceh; and Branch Manager of BJB Sharia, Mr Wawan Kurniawan Hidayat.
The construction of the Pemalang-Batang toll road will require approximately 3.2 trillion IDR in funding and BNI Syariah, along with 17 other local banks will aim to fulfil these demands. Within this consortium, there is a syndicate of 4 shariah banks namely, BNI Syariah, Bank Aceh, BJB Syariah, and Bank DIY Shariah which will contribute a total of 500 billion IDR — BNI Syariah itself will provide 200 billion IDR for the project. BNI Syariah will also make available 17.42 billion USD for the completion of the first phase of the toll road.
