On 9th May 2017, BNI Syariah initiated the Swadaya GO-JEK Programme in cooperation with ride-hailing app GO-JEK, in an official signing ceremony held at the GO-JEK Head Office in Jakarta. This latest cooperation — which also involves partnerships with Bank BTN and Permata Bank Syariah — is set to provide opportunities for GO-JEK drivers with mortgage financing facilities in addition to Hajj and Umrah services.; it is expected that as much as 175,000 GO-JEK drivers in the Greater Jakarta area will participate in this new programme.
Esteemed guests present at the event included President Director of BNI Syariah Mr Mr Abdullah Firman Wibowo, Minister of Communications and Informatics Mr Rudiantara, CEO of GO-JEK Mr Nadiem Makarim; Mr Achmad Permana as Director of Bank Permata Syariah; Mr Handayani as Director of Bank BTN; and Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Mr Rosmaya Hadi among many others. BNI Syariah will make available competitive Hajj and Umrah packages for GO-JEK through its many partnerships with Aerohajj, Albilad, NRA, and ESQ. Additionally, pilgrims joining the programme will be provided BNI Syariah’s innovative Hajj and Umrah card to facilitate cashless transactions whilst in Saudi Arabia; GO-JEK drivers are obligated to pay the minimal amount of 25,000-35,000 IDR per day for two years to join the programme.
Through this latest programme, BNI Syariah is expected to attain 315 billion IDR in revenue thus further demonstrating its capacity to formulate new products that have proved instrumental in raising awareness of Islamic banking products in Indonesia.
