On 11th April 2017, BNI Syariah launched its latest product, the iB Griya Swakarya Hasanah, at a ceremony in the city of Bogor. The novel product will provide financing for properties based on the concept of murabaha (fixed asset ownership). Through this principle, BNI Syariah purchases the properties and retains ownership until the customer is able to pay according to the payment schedule. It is hoped that BNI Syariah's latest product can offer competitive housing prices given that developer fees are not part of the final price.
Present at the event included Mr Abdullah Firman Wibowo as President Director of BNI Syariah and Dr. Bima Arya as the Mayor of Bogor. Mr Wibowo reiterated BNI Syariah’s commitment to contributing to the government’s ‘one million homes’ programme — currently only 805,169 units have been built — the bank has targeted to accumulate some 50 billion IDR for 2017 through this property financing scheme. Furthermore, BNI Syariah will provide financing for land developments, and property renovation in addition to a home loan. Going forward, BNI Syariah aims to cooperate with local developers in order to expand its Murabaha financing scheme across Indonesia.
Through its most recent product launch, BNI Syariah hopes to provide greater convenience to potential new homeowners seeking interest free loans for property purchases. As such, this innovative product showcases the company’s in-depth understanding of shariah-compliant services and thus enables the bank to offer innovative banking services and solutions to its customers.
