On 3rd August 2016, BNI Syariah along with 40 prominent Islamic financial institutions attended the Shariah Finance Fair 2016 which was held at Summarecon Mall, Serpong. The event was organised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and served as a platform for BNI Syariah to announce its latest CSR initiatives — 'Qurban' BNI iB Hasanah Savings; the bank has developed two CSR programmes in partnership with local NGOs, Rumah Zakat and Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT). The launch of this programme was attended by Mr Kukuh Rahardjo as Director of Consumer Business, Mr Nur Effendi as CEO of Rumah Zakat and Mr Imam Akbar as Senior Vice President of ACT.
Through its collaboration with ACT, BNI Syariah established 'Tabungan Qurban' — a special savings account through which customers can deposit money for the donation of meat for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha festival. ACT will utilise its vast network of social and humanitarian programmes across Indonesia to disperse BNI Syariah’s customers’ donations. In addition to the 'Tabungan Qurban' account, the bank offered cashback incentives to iB Hasanah customers through its SuperQurban programme in cooperation with Rumah Zakat. Through this initiative, Rumah Zakat will utilise donations from BNI Syariah’s customers to make available food products with a long shelf-life.
BNI Syariah continues to develop its CSR activities and collaborations with NGOs. Through its most recent CSR programmes, the esteemed bank offers financial convenience for its customers looking to undertake charitable donations during the Eid-ul-Adha festivity. This stands as testament to the bank’s drive in promoting its 'Hasanah' corporate culture to support local communities.
