As part of its longstanding commitment to support the development of the next generation of Indonesian entrepreneurs, BNI Syariah on 28th October 2015 opened the Kompatriot Socialpreneur Centre in Randubelang Village, Yogyakarta. The launch of this non-formal education and training institution for young entrepreneurs was marked by the signing of an inaugural plaque by Mr Acep R. Jayaprawira, BNI Syariah’s Director of Risk and Compliance. Other esteemed guests at the ceremony included the Head of the Corporate Secretary Division, Ms Endang Rosawati; Head of BNI Syariah Yogyakarta, Mr Wahsi Prasodjo; and several local government officials.
The opening of the Kompatriot Socialpreneur Centre stands as the latest initiative within BNI Syariah’s Hasanah Empowerment program which seeks to provide capital and mentoring assistance to pioneering entrepreneurs. In this regard, BNI Syariah established the training centre in partnership with Mr Eko Dadiek – one of the individuals dubbed by BNI Syariah as a Mutiara Bangsa Ber-Hasanah (MBB) Ambassador. Following on from its inauguration, the Kompatriot Socialpreneur Centre is now ready to serve the objective of nurturing prospective entrepreneurs particularly in rural Yogyakarta having been equipped with an array of office facilities, a multimedia room, a library and sports facilities.
In the future, BNI Syariah will also be providing assistance to Mr Dadiek in carrying out a variety of community-oriented activities, such as public education campaigns, organic farming training sessions, and the distribution of aid to farmer groups. In total, BNI Syariah’s Hasanah Empowerment 2015 program aims to assist 650 partners in the fields of handicraft production, environmental conservation, agriculture, and livestock and poultry farming.
