On 22nd September 2017, BNI Syariah in cooperation with its parent company Bank BNI (Persero) participated at the 2017 Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair which was held at the Jakarta Convention Centre. The annual event was held simultaneously across 22 cities throughout Indonesia and was attended by more than 70 travel agents and tour operators. BNI Syariah used the event to launch its new iB Hasanah Card to promote Halal tourism in Indonesia and West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB). Collaborating with the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial government, the new card features a design of Lake Segara Anak, one of the most visited tourist destinations in Lombok.
Present at the event were Head of the NTB Culture and Tourism Board Mr Lalu Mohammad Faozal, Head of the Shariah Banking Department of the Financial Services Authority Mr Ahmad Soekro Tratmono, BNI Syariah’s President Director Mr Abdullah Firman Wibowo, and Ms Dhias Widhiyati as BNI Syariah’s Director of Business. Upon attaining the new iB Hasanah Card, BNI Syariah customers can take advantage of the bank’s partnership with MasterCard Indonesia and enjoy transactional convenience at participating MasterCard merchants in NTB province as well as those worldwide. Furthermore, the bank made available cashback offers in addition to discounts on Hajj and Umrah travel packages from its many travel agent partners — the bank also provided incentives for vacation packages to the UK, South Korea, Palestine, and Lombok island.
As Indonesia continues to develop its Halal tourism sector, BNI Syariah’s cooperation with local governments is set to increase the appeal of shariah-compliant tourist destinations such as in those in NTB province — the region has previously won accolades at the Halal Tourism Awards 2016 — and across the country. As such, through the launch of its new Hasanah product, the company hopes to contribute to building Indonesia’s brand in the global Halal tourism market.
