From 28th – 29th October 2017, BNI Syariah participated at the Indonesia Outlook 2018 panel discussion seminar held in Semarang. The panel featured alumni from SMA 3 high school in Semarang which included Indonesia’s Minister of Finance Ms Sri Mulyani and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms Retno Marsudi. Other speakers present at the event was PT Pertamina Hulu Energi’s President Director Mr Gunung Sardjono and entrepreneur Mr Bernadus Arwin. The discussion focused on improving the competitiveness of Indonesian businesses in facing the dynamic challenges in the global economy. BNI Syariah’s President Director Mr Abdullah Firman Wibowo also attended the event accompanied by BNI Syariah’s Head of Secretarial and Corporate Communications Division Mr Adjat Djatnika, Head of Network and Services Division Ms Sri Rezeki, as well as Head of BNI Syariah’s Semarang Branch Ms Pitra Ardiati.
The panel discussion highlighted common problems Indonesian businesses currently face ranging from bureaucratic red tape to access to finance. As such, the group reiterated the importance of solving these issues coupled with providing the country’s large youthful demographic with the necessary skills to positively impact Indonesia’s development; BNI Syariah took the opportunity to showcase its contribution to various sectors of the economy through its Halal tourism packages and home financing products.
