“ Given that partners of the ASEAN member states come from Europe, US, Japan, and Korea, the AEC thus provides greater access to enter the aforementioned markets. ”
Taka Turbomachinery Indonesia was established in 1999 as a subsidiary unit of the holding company, Taka Indonesia. As of 2016, our company employs a total of 145 staff members and among our facilities is a 7,000 square metres workshop; our holding company has 300 permanent employees. Our corporate vision is to become the leading turbo machinery services company in Indonesia and the region and therefore we have adjusted our corporate culture in order to meet the said goals. We specialise in rotating equipment repair services for gas and steam turbines, compressors, and pumps among other product types. Furthermore, we have obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications with future plans of attaining OHSAS 18000 certification by the end of 2016. Taka Turbomachinery’s client portfolio includes blue-chip clients from various power generation industries such as oil and gas, refineries, and petrochemicals.
In Indonesia, we are renowned for our heavy industrial turbines in which we have 80 tonnes of overhead train and balancing machines with the capacity to hold of 125 tonnes – considered the largest in the country and the Southeast Asian region. We make available services for workshop repairs as well as on-site repairs; our on-site reparation services differentiate us from our competitors.
Going forward, we are aiming to develop the capacity to manufacture durable turbine machinery as a measure to further receive support from the government in terms of locally-made products. We are seeking to take our own measures in this regard by developing small-scale turbines in our factory operations.
The government’s 35,000 MW project has presented us with significant business opportunities for the future. We remain optimistic for the outlook of our industry particularly with the current government’s electricity project plans given that national electrification ratio remains below 90% — thus this programme is necessary for Indonesia to carry out. As such, we are planning to add a high-speed balancing machine with an 80-tonne capacity as part of our facilities, which will be the biggest in Southeast Asia in order to anticipate upcoming future demands in the industry. This machinery will utilise state-of-the-art technology from our partners in Germany and we expect to begin using the equipment by end-2017.
Through the AEC, we have been able to enjoy improved customs clearance in addition to being provided ease of access for public information. Given that partners of the ASEAN member states come from Europe, US, Japan, and South Korea, the AEC thus provides greater access to enter the aforementioned markets and represents a big opportunity for us.
Bureaucracy remains a major constraint within our business operations particularly due to the extensive time period that is required in dealing with various government bodies. We believe that further efforts are needed to implement the government’s plans of shortening waiting periods such as lead time in seaports.
We utilise our corporate mission – which includes offering solutions for our customers, ensure a swift delivery method, manufacture high-quality products, and offer competitive prices – as the foundation of the company’s priorities. As such, we equip our staff members with in-depth knowledge of the industry including technical expertise on turbo machinery reparation in order to provide customers with a highly-specific engineering solution.
As a company, we are very open to partnering with international firms. We have established previous experiences in working with overseas companies namely for technological advancement. Among these partners include various multinational original equipment manufacturers. In regards to initiating partnerships, we are seeking to establish cooperation for joint ventures, technology transfer, and investment. In fact, Taka Turbomachinery Indonesia recently signed a memorandum of understanding with a Polish company for blade manufacturing.
Moreover, in seeking to realise our vision of manufacturing turbo machinery in Indonesia, our company is therefore particularly interested in cooperating with international investors from Europe as well as Japan.
We encourage foreign investors with the capacity to support technological advancement efforts to come to Indonesia as the country moves ahead with its development projects. The country is a huge market for any technological product and by sharing in-depth knowledge regarding the latest cutting-edge technology, Indonesia and the Asia Pacific region is poised to benefit from this business opportunity.
