On 23rd February 2018, Sarinah signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indonesian state-owned (SOE) developer and administrator of the Pulogadung Industrial Estate, Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP), at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises in Jakarta. Through this cooperation, Sarinah will supply JIEP with corporate souvenirs and uniforms; a service the company has already provided to various state-owned companies throughout the country. Present at the signing event was Sarinah's President Director Mr GNP Sugiarta Yasa, Sarinah’s Director of Retail Ms Lies Permana Lestari, JIEP’s Director of Finance Ms Sitta Izza Rosdaniah, and was witnessed by the Ministry of SOEs Deputy of Business Sector Construction and Transportation Infrastructure Mr Ahmad Bambang.
As the first industrial park to be established in Indonesia, the Pulogadung Industrial Estate serves to cater to the rising demand for industrial property in the country. Supported by its strategic location and convenient access to major airports and ports in Jakarta, the estate continues to play a vital role in drawing new businesses and thus has become an important source of employment.
The corporate uniforms supplied by Sarinah will be both comfortable and functional and aimed at showcasing JIEP as a modern and professional company, ready to stand at the forefront of Indonesia's continued industrialisation. Furthermore, this partnership allows Sarinah to provide its vast SME partners access to a variety of facilities that JIEP can offer. These include; industrial land plots, warehousing, custom built factories, as well as an office complex.
JIEP and Sarinah’s recent cooperation highlight the Indonesian government’s current push to attract greater investment into the highly-competitive industrial property sector. Moreover, with the government also developing better infrastructure and regulatory reforms, the sector can become a major growth driver for many secondary cities, and thereby boost national economic growth.
