Tarumanagara University’s Faculty of Psychology was established in 1994 with the goal of introducing a more diverse range of topics to the study of this social science discipline in Indonesia. The department presently offers ‘A’ accredited courses in Sports Psychology, Psychology of the Arts, Psychology of Entrepreneurship and Cross Cultural Psychology, in addition to concentrations in the well-established fields of Developmental Psychology and Criminal Psychology.

Students are expected to graduate from this program with expertise in theory as well as with a practical understanding of techniques in research and the design of experiments. Supporting the learning process are university facilities such as laboratories dedicated to counselling, child observation and the ground-breaking study of Art Therapy. Tarumanagara University also provides its students and lecturers in the Faculty of Psychology with channels to circulate research through accredited academic journals. Cooperation with the Indonesian Educational Psychology Association (APPI) and the Indonesian Industrial & Organizational Psychology Association (APIO) facilitates the ongoing publication of Provitae and Phronesis to present the latest concepts, news and studies from Indonesia’s foremost psychologists.
