STEKPI / Trilogi University | Telematics

The Telematics division of Trilogi University is built upon STEKPI’s existing courses within the field of information systems and computer engineering as part of its business studies offerings. The new curricula of the telematics department has been created in collaboration with the Bandung Institute of Technology and thus benchmarked against the leading academic institutions in Indonesia in this field.

The telematics department provides courses in computer engineering and information systems for budding professionals in this rapidly growing field and its related industries. The computer engineering course has been designed to provide students with a solid knowledge base in networking and multimedia systems. From this foundation covering hardware and software, students then explore more complex issues related to problem solving techniques and designing computer support systems. Students gain exposure to the current trends in the field in order to prepare them for careers in areas such as mobile application development, multimedia engineering, web development and software programming.

The information systems course focuses on the role of information systems in the successful organisation of a company or institution to effectively collect, filter and analyse crucial data. The complementary relationship between hardware and software systems is also covered in depth to equip students with the necessary skills to bridge information systems with the everyday realities of business and decision making.

The spirit of teknopreneurship and its potential applications within the field of telematics are a continuous theme at each stage of the course to encourage students to think beyond established norms in the sector to visualise solutions for their local community and surroundings. This is of particular importance as Indonesia is a market in which technology has far reaching potential to solve many of the country’s greatest challenges including overcoming geographical obstacles for the spread of information and services, giving the course even greater relevance for students and their future.
