Bahana | Bahana Participates in BUMN Expo 2015
24.08.2015

In line with its longstanding commitment to support Indonesia’s continued development, Bahana Pembinaan Usaha Indonesia (Persero) from 21st to 23rd August 2015 participated in BUMN Expo 2015 – an event held as a showcase of state-owned enterprises and their initiatives to contribute to economic growth. Attended by distinguished guests including Ms Rini Soemarno as State-Owned Enterprises Minister and Ms Dwina S. Wijaya as President Director of Bahana, the exhibition featured booths from a broad cross-section of prominent local SOEs including PLN, Pertamina, Telkom Indonesia, Krakatau Steel, Bank BNI and Adhi Karya.

Bahana’s participation in BUMN Expo 2015 incorporated the involvement of each of its subsidiaries. The group’s investment management firm, Bahana TCW, for example, took the opportunity to further socialize fundamentally sound investment strategies to the public. This is in keeping with the company’s ongoing efforts to encourage widespread consumer participation in mutual funds through the innovative launch of an online investment platform, SiNar.

Also actively taking part in BUMN Expo 2015 was Bahana Artha Ventura (BAV), the group’s venture capital division focused on serving small and medium enterprises across the archipelago. With 27 subsidiary units operating under the company in cities spread throughout Indonesia, BAV has since its establishment in 1994 provided financial facilities to more than 45,000 SMEs and overseen the development of a multitude of businesses fast-becoming major players in their industries. As was explained during BUMN Expo 2015, Bahana through BAV intends to expand upon its role in promoting the growth of local businesses by cooperating with an additional 80,000 SMEs in 2016. The realization of this strategy will in part be funded by a planned injection of 500 billion IDR from the government into the group next year – a course of action that stands as testament to Bahana’s integral position as an engine of inclusive growth in Indonesia.
