Chitose Internasional Tbk offers a varied selection of school furniture products catering to the needs of all age groups and class types. Through its well-known line of folding chairs equipped with memo boards, the company provides furniture suited to classrooms requiring flexible seating arrangements. Drawing upon the established reputation of its folding chair products including the iconic Yamato model, this line is also popular among schools and universities that value easy storage to maximise floor space.

Chitose also makes available a series of desk and chair packages in both one-seat and two-seat models designed for installation in rooms with a more permanent seating arrangement such as lecture halls. Offered in heights ranging from 113 cm to 180 cm, models such as the Echool, Campus and Keiko series are used in an array of educational institutions ranging from primary schools to universities in Indonesia as well as overseas.

As testament to its ongoing pursuit of innovation, Chitose’s most recent additions to its school furniture portfolio includes the Manabu AH-01 and Manabu AH-02 – desk and chair sets of adjustable height (See Chitose School Furniture Products & Specs). Such flexibility has seen this product used by learning centres in addition to educational foundations and child-focused NGOs serving a wide-range of age groups.

Previous research and development was focused on the launch of specialized products serving niche academic institutions to solidify Chitose’s reputation as a manufacturer with the skills to meet a full breadth of local and international opportunities. Among these specialized products is the Echool Art model featuring a plywood drawing surface that can be positioned at angles from 10 degrees to 68 degrees.

Chitose’s strong position as the market leader for school furniture products (43% market share, as reported by Markplus) positions it at the forefront of the pack of companies that stand to take advantage of a new Indonesian government vocal in its plans to increase spending on basic education. Having achieved CAGR growth in sales of 5.61% between 2010 and 2014, the segment is poised for further development over the coming years. Through a strategy focused on B2G collaboration to expedite the spread of its products across Indonesia, Chitose has already prospered in tandem with this trend, with sales of its school furniture products rising by 33% in 2015.
