FRP Pipes & Fittings

Fiberglass reinforced plastic piping systems are becoming increasingly recognised as a cost-effective alternative to metallic piping which play a fundamental role in chemical processing, oil and gas flow lines as well as water distribution. Tapping into this high growth segment of the market, Gunung Putri Graha Mas embarked upon extensive research for the development of durable, corrosion resistant piping. Combining this research with existing expertise within fiberglass formulations, the resulting Whale FRP composite pipes are immune to the damaging effects of internal corrosion caused by chemicals and external corrosion caused by harsh climates.

Gunung Putri Graha Mas’ Whale composite pipes are offered in an array of sizes, ranging between 3 – 48 inches in diameter. All composite pipes are capable of withstanding pressures of up to 150 psi and undergo stringent quality control measures such as ultrasonic thickness monitoring, BARCOL hardness tests and resin viscosity tests. Whale composite pipes can also be custom designed and subsequently mass produced to cater to the individual needs of each client. This service is particularly advantageous to companies involved in projects at challenging site locations which require flexibility in the piping system layout. A further attribute of the pipes is the speed with which they can be installed; being lightweight at an eighth of the weight of metal based pipes, no heavy machinery is required and can be installed at welding speeds of up to 1,000 m of piping per day thus minimizing manpower costs.

Gunung Putri Graha Mas has been actively involved in the manufacturing and installation of piping systems across a variety of industries including large scale projects in pulp & paper plants, chemical plants, mining extraction sites in addition to oil and gas projects. Present users of Gunung Putri Graha Mas’ composite pipes include the Muara Tawar power plant, Karawang industrial park as well as notable fertilizer companies for sea water intake.
