ENVIPLAST® | ENVIPLAST® Attends Trade Expo Indonesia 2014
12.10.2014

ENVIPLAST®, in keeping with its goal of reaching out to international buyers as a means of facilitating new export opportunities, participated as an exhibitor at the 29th Trade Expo Indonesia. Held between the 8th and 12th of October 2014 at the JIExpo in Kemayoran, Jakarta, this event is highly regarded as the foremost showcase of Indonesian products to overseas visitors. As an exhibitor, ENVIPLAST® sought to introduce visitors to the production process behind its innovative bio-based polymer compound and provided a first-hand look at the blown-film technology used to create its bags and general packaging, among an extensive list of further applications.

Mr Herman Moeliana as President Director of Inter Aneka Lestari Kimia, the manufacturing company behind ENVIPLAST®, at the Trade Expo spoke about the importance of such events in light of the growing prevalence of governments around the world introducing regulations to curb the use of plastic products. In discussing the specific markets being targeted by ENVIPLAST® through its participation at Trade Expo Indonesia, Mr Moeliana reiterated his company’s focus on countries committed to protecting the environment but also touched upon the rising interest in ENVIPLAST® products from developing countries. ENVIPLAST®’s booth was subject to a growing number of enquiries from Eastern European markets such as Armenia and Kazakhstan, as well as buyers based in Africa and the Caribbean.

“Developing countries face even more of a challenge when it comes to the use of harmful plastics. More mature economies tend to have good consumer education initiatives which means that people separate their own trash and recycle,” said Mr Moeliana. “This kind of activity is still not as common in developing countries, hence the importance of products such as ENVIPLAST® that are an eco-friendly alternative to plastic.”

Following its successful participation in Trade Expo Indonesia 2014, ENVIPLAST® plans to attend similar events both in Indonesia and overseas as part of its strategy to reach out to prospective partners interested in discovering new applications for its bio-based polymer compound.

As the leading exhibition for Indonesian goods and services intended for export, Trade Expo Indonesia consistently draws buyers from around the world. The 29th instalment brought in 14,345 visitors from 125 countries – a 53.54% increase from the 9,343 visitors in 2013. In total, the five day event booked a reported $1.42 billion USD in goods and services contracts, indicative of the international market’s confidence in Indonesian products.
