Iconic retailer of modern fashion, Sarinah, recently participated in the annual National Forum for Public Relations Departments of State-Owned Enterprises (Musyawarah Nasional Forum Humas BUMN) in order to further improve its public communications channel. Sarinah’s Communications Manager, Mr Budhi Sulistyo, represented the retailer during the event which was held in Yogyakarta, Central Java from 15th – 17th April 2016. Sarinah was joined by 40 other state-owned enterprises including Angkasa Pura, Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), Telkom Indonesia, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), Wijaya Karya (WIKA), Pegadaian, and Pertamina, among others.
Understanding the changes in attaining and disseminating public information, Sarinah’s participation demonstrates its commitment to developing multiple methods of communication with its customers. As part of the event, participants were provided with training programmes on how to enclose public information as well as utilise resources to maximise their network reach. Through these training sessions, Sarinah is expected to more effectively broadcast the company’s latest news and events that appeal to a wider subset of the market.
The event itinerary also included the appointment of a new Chairman of the forum in addition to the formalisation of the forum’s annual work programmes and amendments to the budget.
As a leading retailer in Indonesia, Sarinah continues to successfully maintain and build upon its market reach through various communication channels namely in social media. Sarinah’s participation at the National Forum for Public Relations Departments of State-Owned Enterprises is poised to expand its capabilities and as such the retailer is set to become an increasingly prominent state-owned enterprise drawing upon an advanced understanding of the field of communications.
