On 22nd June 2016, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya signed a memorandum of understanding with the developers of BSD City, Sinar Mas Land at the university’s BSD campus. The partnership will focus on waste management in the vicinity of BSD City and as such, will seek to develop efficient and eco-friendly processes to meet said goals. Attendees of the event included Rector of Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, Prof. Djisman Simandjuntak; Prof. Djoko Wintoro, Ph.D. as Vice Rector of Universitas Prasetiya Mulya; Managing Director of President Office Sinar Mas Land, Mr Dhony Rahajoe; Mr Syukur Lawigena as a representative of PT Bumi Serpong Damai, Tbk’s Board of Directors as well as Mr Ignesjz Kemalawarta as Sinar Mas Land’s Head of Governance and Sustainability Development.
Through the partnership, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya aims to utilise its upcoming project with Sinar Mas Land as a model for other land developers in establishing a sustainable method for the disposal of waste materials. Moreover, the recent cooperation demonstrates the university’s longstanding commitment to working with esteemed local and international partners in finding solutions that can bring about benefits to industries as well as national development.
