ENVIPLAST® is offered in a multitude of final product types ready to be distributed to end-users. This extensive range of eco-friendly applications encompasses shopping bags, garbage bags, laundry bags and disposable agriculture polybags as well as wrapping material for electronic goods and automotive spare parts; each of these products can be made available in many different sizes and colour combinations.
Like the ENVIPLAST® film from which it is made, ENVIPLAST® bio-based bags undergo comprehensive testing procedures to guarantee product quality and eco-friendliness. Unlike PE plastic bags, the product contains no polyolefin polymers and has been shown to degrade naturally in landfills with the help of macro and micro-organisms. As the final stage in the product life cycle, the broken down material returns to nature in the form of carbon dioxide (CO2), water (H2O) and biomass and therefore contributes to the eventual cultivation of natural resources used in the manufacturing process. These products can also be recycled with paper products.
ENVIPLAST®’s environmental advantages are coupled with adequate tensile strength and durability. The brand's extra-large shopping bags (t-shirt model) and large garbage bags offer a carrying capacity of up to 9 kg, while its large and medium shopping bags (t-shirt model) can hold up to 6 kg and 4 kg, respectively.
Available in a variety of colours, the ENVIPLAST® bio-based film is the ideal intermediate solution for firms that are not yet in the position to manufacture their own bags using ENVIPLAST® pellets but require multiple types of consumer-friendly and eco-sustainable bags and other bio-based film applications. By offering fully manufactured final products, ENVIPLAST® provides its clients with the opportunity to carry out in-house customisation in colours, prints and sizes to best fulfil the needs of their market and/or retail operations.
Laboratory tests on ENVIPLAST® bags revealed their ability to dissolve in warm water and contain no traces of Polyethylene or Polypropylene. This showcases the products' potential to be used for home composting and thus be used as an alternative treatment option for organic household waste in addition to contributing to the reduction of overall plastic waste entering marine environments — causing microplastics — and landfills. In recognition of this, the company was awarded the ' Environmentally- friendly' ecolabel from SNI in 2016.
