From 13th – 15th April 2018, Sarinah participated in the 2018 Indonesia Creative Product Festival (ICPF), which was held at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Themed ‘Diversity in Unity’, ICPF 2018 aimed to promote the broad range of products made by Indonesian SMEs and their SOE partners to an international audience. Organised by the National Publishing and News Corporation (NPNC), the festival was inaugurated by the Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia HE Mr Rusdi Kirana and saw in attendance some 28 SOEs and 80 SMEs. Representing Sarinah at the event was Ms Indyruwani Asikin Natanegara as the Director of Trade and Property and its Commissioner Ms Eva Juliana.
At the festival, Sarinah showcased a variety of products including batik fabrics, handicrafts, ethnic fashion, and accessories that were produced by the company's more than 400 SME partners from across Indonesia; demonstrating to attendees the country’s rich cultural diversity. Furthermore, the event also provided an opportunity for Indonesian SOEs and SMEs to network with potential partners and customers.
Through this event, Sarinah has demonstrated the success of its comprehensive strategy of equipping local SMEs with essential knowledge on financing, marketing, product design, and business operations. The company thus stands at the forefront of the growth of Indonesia’s creative industry; playing an important role in driving this sector to become a major contributor to the national economy.
