Leading modern retailer Sarinah signed an MoU with state-owned (SOE) textile manufacturer Primissima, at a signing ceremony held on 29th January 2018 in Jakarta. This latest cooperation will see Primissima supply Sarinah with high-quality batik fabrics as well as uniforms, adding to the retailer's list of far-reaching industry partners. Present at the event was Sarinah’s President Director Mr GNP Sugiarta Yasa; President Director of Primissima Mr Usmansyah; and the Deputy of Construction and Transportation Facilities and Infrastructure of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, Mr Ahmad Bambang.
Renowned for its use of cutting-edge machinery, Primissima has the capacity to produce textiles and fabrics for specific applications and functionality whilst maintaining the individual needs of its client. This is supported by the company's expertise in the development of raw materials — a crucial aspect in attracting collaborations with modern as well as traditional retailers — which includes a broad selection of yarns, ranging from cotton combed Ne 50’s to viscose-rayon and polyester. As such, Sarinah will showcase the fabrics at its department stores and thus offer its customers direct access and unparalleled choice to a wide variety of distinct batik motifs; further cementing the company’s position as a trusted source of quality local products.
Through this partnership, Sarinah demonstrated its competency to form meaningful synergies with prominent SOEs in Indonesia. This ongoing strategy will help both companies identify and optimise unique opportunities that will enable them to better compete in a fast-changing and increasingly dynamic local and regional business environment.
