On 17th March 2016, Prasetiya Mulya Business School officially became Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, marking the latest initiative by the institution to strengthen Indonesia’s higher education sector. Prominent attendees at the ceremony which took place at the Indonesian Convention Exhibition (ICE) in Tangerang, included longstanding members of the Prasetiya Mulya Foundation Mr Ciputra, Mr Jusuf Wanandi, SH, Mr Edwin Soeryadjaya and Mr Leopard Lyman; Indonesia’s Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nasir was also present and provided a keynote speech during the event. Senior representatives from Universitas Prasetiya Mulya such as the newly-appointed Dean of the School of Business and Economics, Prof. Agus W. Soehadi, Ph.D and Prasetiya Mulya’s Dean for the 2012 – 2016 period, Prof. Djoko Wintoro were also in attendance.
Universitas Prasetiya Mulya appointed Prof. Dr. Djisman Simandjuntak as its first rector to spearhead the institution’s future endeavours as it strives to continually produce highly competitive and globally adept graduates in Indonesia. Furthermore, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya introduced a new logo to symbolise the core pillars of its values such intelligence, entrepreneurship and welfare. As a university, Prasetiya Mulya is set to undertake extensive measures to further develop the skills and knowledge of Indonesian university students and serve as a solution for the education sector and industry players. Among a number of transformative plans to achieve its mission include partnership network expansion, incorporating digital-savvy teaching methods, and the establishment of 11 new study programmes; in 2016, the Accounting and Management undergraduate programmes have begun student enrolment.
For the 2017/2018 academic year, local and international students will gain access to an innovative learning experience in International Business Law, Renewable Energy Engineering, Business Economics, Tourism Business, Computer Engineering, Business Mathematics, Product Design Engineering, Food Technology, and Software Engineering. These highly-specific study programmes demonstrate Prasetiya Mulya’s ability to tailor its educational products in accordance to global trends, as well as to the dynamic demand of Indonesia’s renowned businesses. Moving forward with its milestone progress, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya is poised to build upon its foundations as a successful higher education institution in Indonesia.
