The Faculty of Law at UNSRI offers intellectually challenging and rewarding degrees at the undergraduate, postgraduate as well as doctorate level. In the era of greater global integration, the Faculty of Law has developed curricula that are in sync with local and international developments as the university aims to compete on the global stage amongst leading higher education institutions. As such, the degrees offered at UNSRI’s Faculty of Law respond to the need from businesses as well as state institutions for adept graduates in a variety of specialised fields. With new challenges facing Indonesian businesses requiring human resources that fully understand the complex nature of Indonesia’s legal system, UNSRI’s Faculty of Law offers courses in areas such as franchising, intellectual property and licensing, among others.
UNSRI’s Faculty of Law prepares graduates to grasp the wide-range of issues that are at the intersection of law and politics. Moreover, the master’s programme offers majors in the field of Criminal Law and Human Rights, Business Law and Constitutional Law while the faculty’s doctoral programme provides the analytical and research skills to enable graduates to advance their careers in law. The Faculty of Law is supervised by a team of experts in their field of study with an aim to guide and equip students with the foundations in legal and criminological research methods. Through these teaching methods, graduates will also develop the skills to communicate their knowledge effectively to a wide range of audiences and developing an understanding of the processes in which institutions formulate and execute policies. To further sharpen their skills, the faculty is equipped with a specialised laboratory as a means for lecturers as well as students to conduct research, seminars, and workshops so as to put into practise their practical and theoretical expertise for litigation and non-litigation case studies.
Qualified and skilful law professionals will raise the quality of Indonesia’s legal institutions, law firms as well as the legal departments of businesses and government entities. As the country faces increasing competition among its ASEAN peers, there is a need to focus on law reforms of government legislations to ease cooperation between local and international businesses.
