On 26th August 2016, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the esteemed Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) in a measure to further develop upon the university’s School of Applied STEM curricula and learning resources. Rector of Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, Prof. Dr. Djisman Simandjuntak and Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko, M.Sc. as Deputy Chairman for Engineering Sciences at LIPI carried out the MOU signing which took place at LIPI’s head office in Jakarta. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya and LIPI will cooperate on a number of initiatives including human resource exchange and knowledge sharing.
The School of Applied STEM is the recently-established school at Universitas Prasetiya Mulya and thus the university is forging ahead with its strategies to create a highly-competitive curriculum which hones in on technical skills and theoretical knowledge of its enrolled students. The cooperation with LIPI will primarily focus on the fields of computer engineering, chemical technology, food technology, and nano hydro power. Moreover, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya will serve as industry consultants to LIPI on areas of business development and economics.
The university is motivated to equip its students with the necessary learning tools to ensure their knowledge and skills can be applied upon entering the workforce; this capability remains as Universitas Prasetiya Mulya’s leading attribute in Indonesia’s higher education industry as evident through the numerous successes of its business education programmes. Universitas Prasetiya Mulya’s 5-year partnership with LIPI is set to ensure that the university’s undergraduate students develop the skillset that can contribute to the future progress of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in Indonesia.
